VIOLA LABRADORICA

Viola Labradorica (Viola labradorica) is also known as the Labrador Violet. This ground hugging evergreen has very handsome dark heart shaped foliage and deep purple flowers. The 1 1/2 inch leaves spread steadily until they carpet the area where they have been introduced, forming a dense mat.

Like all Violets, this variety prefers a damp shady positon however will cope with full sun in cooler regions. Violets can can be used in baskets containers or under larger plants as they will form a compact dense ground cover with the right amount of shelter and watering. Likes a well drained soil in full to part shade and grows better if regularly fertilised.
