The rich green leaves of ‘Green Ruffles’ are sharply serrated, puckered and larger than those of the common sweet basil. In summer, the plant carries spikes of whorled, pale-pink flowers.

Choose a sunny site with well-drained soil, amend with well-rotted manure or compost.
Use
The leaves are equally fragrant and said to particularly enhance the flavour of tomato dishes. It tastes of sweet aniseed and mint. Perfect for salads.
