Tarragon is a must have herb with a mild aniseed and peppery flavour. Russian Tarragon is a mild flavored form that can be grown by seed as more tolerant of a wider range of conditions than French Tarragon.

Flavours/Food Partners
Parsley, chives, basil, rosemary, thyme, chervil, garlic and oregano. Must for many soups, curries, stews and pasta dishes. Partners well with milder meats, poultry and seafood as well as with tomatoes, mushrooms and cheese. Young shoots can be used as soft green vegetable much like asparagus.

Health/Cooking/Medicinal
An easy to use herb that has a mild aniseed flavour and soft pepper like after taste. The leaves must be used as fresh as possible as the flavour dissipates quickly after picking. Use sparingly in salads and as a fresh garnish.

Landscaping/Planting
This small shrub requires a dry, sunny spot in very well drained soil. Needs little fertilizing and tolerates limey soils.

Cultivation/Fertiliser
Pick leaves as needed and give regular applications of Seasol and Powerfeed during spring and autumn to keep the plant healthy and producing well.
