A magnificent, large and stately tree to approx 12m tall over 10-15 years. Vase-shaped when young and developing a broad and rounded crown with maturity.
The leaves are yellow to lime green, large and oval with serrated edges and are deeply veined. In autumn they turn very deep rich golden yellow.
Bark is ridged and dark - almost black. When wet, there is s stark contrast between the bark and leaves creating a spectacular effect.
Moderate to fast rate of growth.
Full sun and prefers a well composted, moist and free draining soil. The Golden Elm will tolerate periods of dry and performs best when watered regularly.
